CNC Machining Services for Sheet Metal Fabrication
Secondary machining operations for OEM sheet metal programs — milling, drilling, tapping, and surface work at our Minneapolis facility.
In-house machining keeps your program under one roof
ELO Engineering's in-house CNC machining capability handles the secondary operations that sheet metal programs commonly require — milled features, drilled and tapped holes, surface work, and close-tolerance dimensions that forming and punching alone can't achieve. Rather than sending parts to a second shop for machining operations, your program stays at our Minneapolis facility through every operation.
Our machining capability is built around complementing ELO's sheet metal fabrication processes. Parts arrive at our machining department already laser cut, punched, and formed — and leave with the machined features your print requires, ready for welding, finishing, or assembly. One facility, one quality system, one point of contact for your program.

Common machining applications
Secondary machining operations at ELO Engineering typically support sheet metal assemblies requiring features that can't be formed or punched — close-tolerance holes, milled slots and pockets, threaded features, and surface grinding for flatness or finish requirements.
Milled features — slots, pockets, contours, and datum surfaces on fabricated sheet metal parts and weldments
Drilling and tapping — close-tolerance holes and threaded features beyond turret punch capability
Surface grinding — flatness and finish requirements on mating surfaces and mounting plates
Secondary operations on weldments — machined datum features and mounting surfaces on welded assemblies
Toolroom and prototype work — short-run machined components and fixtures supporting fabrication programs
